Hello January, boy are we pleased to see you. Usually, Jan consists of humans bemoaning the weather, getting weirdly into Nutribullets and counting down the days until we can Boomerang the hell out of our wine glasses again but the first month of 2021 just hits different somehow. It feels uncharacteristically upbeat – something to do with a certain year stealing the misery thunder perhaps – and we’re so very here for the feel-good vibes. Onwards and upwards guys here are 20 things to do to make the most of January.
1 Dismantle the Christmas tree
2 And instantly begrudge 2020 you for insisting you go for that extra foot
3 Toy with the idea of getting your gym membership back, mainly just to humour yourself
4 Look at your diary and realise you’re all booked out and socially exhausted until further notice zzz
5 Unsubscribe from everything – the rescue dog notifications, the Secret Santa family group. Exit them all. Declutter that inbox.
6 Wish for snow…
7 But then realise you had like, 9 whole months of unofficial snow days in 2020
8 Dust things you’ve never thought to dust before, case in point – the extractor fan, when did he move in?
9 Discover that the 17 MIA Twiglets you dropped over Christmas all met in down-the-back-of-the-sofa heaven after all
10 Convince yourself that soup is a worthy lunch choice
11 Rearrange your entire home now Christmas is boxed away
12 And lose all respect for any of your circa 2020 interior styling decisions
13 Streamline your camera roll. If not now, then when?
14 Eat anyone who comments on your weight
15 Mentally prepare yourself for the first proper girls’ night out since Feb 2020. All. The. Feelings.
