Weekly Wants: Cold Weather Outfits
Dear sweater weather, we welcome you with open knit-cladded arms, you cosy rascal you! Whilst the colder temp might not be everyone's idea of fun, the cosy layers, trench coats, neck-swaddling jumpers and warm boots make it a slightly more bearable (and wearable) adventure.
If you feel like you’re caught in a sartorial blizzard with no idea who you are as a person or how to dress yourself, fear not. We’ve got your back and we’ll help you clothe it, too.
This is our definitive guide to the cold weather staples we’re lovin’ and, in the interest of staying warm this Winter, adding to our baskets immediately.

“I love my autumn/winter wardrobe the most of all, and despite worrying I spend most of the season looking like the Ikea monkey, I’ve learned to embrace the layers because above all, being warm and comfy is the most important thing!”

“I run hot and I still think it’s quite mild in Brighton come November so I’m afraid my outfit consists of ankles out and no proper coat, however, I do love to layer! This fit is feminine, classic and cool, three things I always try and ooze.”

“I love to layer and Cold Weather Outfits are my favourite, they’re so cozy! But they’re often quite dull and I love a bit of colour. So would go for something a bit brighter than the usual monotone colours. Can’t beat classic Jeans and a hoodie with an oversized coat and some chunky boots.”

“I’m one of those annoying people who love to love autumn/winter. I just find getting dressed so much easier! My cold weather outfit usually consists of a trusty knit with some vintage jeans or wide leg trews layered under an oversized jacket or wooly coat. A scarf always gives the illusion you’ve got your shit together too, even if you did call the nice man at the coffee shop mum this morning.”

Maddie
“I always wondered how people layer nice looking outfits in Autumn/Winter without freezing their butts off and the secret is THERMALS. You can still just about wear that cute jacket or blazer so long as you’ve got sufficient on underneath. Once you’ve got the warmth under control you’re free to wear whatever you want (within reason). Pop one of the HeatTech tops on, a smart wool jumper, a more tailored blazer over top and team it with a pair of gorgeous black ankle boots and you’ll look put together and cosy even on the coldest days.”

“I love this time of year because layering clothes is my favourite thing to do – I like the accessories, with hats and scarves and cute little gloves! The minute there is a chill in the air, my head is happiest under a bobble hat of some sort. If I’m going somewhere where I need to be 100% sure I’ll stay warm, I love a fun chequered trouser (with tights underneath if it’s REALLY cold) with a plain hoody, layered with a relaxed slouchy coat and paired with chunky black boots! (and the hat obviously)”

“I do love my layers come autumn/winter, any excuse to tuck in and keep every bit of cold out! I’m traditionally a jumper and jeans gal, but I’m trying to switch up my style more and this jumpsuit is a gorgeous colour and fit (can pop a thermal or two on underneath), and I do like to co-ordinate so a matching purple beret is a must. I’m really into belted wrap coats at the mo, and this is a nice dark brown which can dress up any outfit for any occasion too – feels like a dressing gown but for outside! Finally, I’m back on the boots and I’ve been eyeing up these Doc Martens as they look hardy for the winter but still chunky and cool 😎”
